is available now at Amazon!
Pssst… link to FREE STUDY GUIDE found here: Free Resources
It’s been a while since I had a series here at Time-Warp Wife, and since the holiday season is quickly approaching, I thought that would be a good theme for our next one. “Quieting Your Heart for the Holidays” will run for four consecutive weeks (November 22 – December 19). I’ll be posting here on the blog, Tuesdays and Fridays. Each week we’ll tackle a unique topic:
- Quieting Your Head – Encouragement to focus on good things that nurture your soul and generate joy.
- Quieting Your Hands – Slowing down while the hustle and bustle of the season picks up, and serving with gladness and joy.
- Quieting Your Home – Setting an atmosphere of warmth and comfort in your home.
- Quieting Your Heart – A focus on 1 Peter 3:4, “[Your beauty] should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
There’s also a prayer journal available at Amazon for those who want to journal through the season. Order it today if you want to journal throughout the holiday season!
Subscribers, if you have trouble seeing these images or accessing the links, please click through to the blog.
Please note, this book isn’t a Bible study–it’s a 30-day prayer journal designed to draw you closer to God through the holiday season. The whimsical illustrations throughout make this journal a precious keepsake you’ll want to reflect back on year after year.
Each day provides you with space to compose a prayer and record memories. The warmth of this journal captures the joy of the holiday season, while daily encouragement and holiday tips help to quiet your soul and point you to Christ.
The journal also includes the Christmas story from Luke chapter 2 (KJV).
As I was putting this book together I couldn’t wait until I could have one in my hands. It’s so cute, so warm and so fun. I’m reminded of my teenage years when I kept a diary beside my bed. I was excited to write in it, and I’m excited to write in this journal too!
Here’s a little a peek inside the book. I think you’ll love it!
FYI… This is all compiled using adorable clip art, so don’t give me credit for the images.
And here’s the back cover, reminding us of the reason for the season!

You are loved by an almighty God,

This came at the exact moment that I needed it! Thank you
This series looks awesome! And that journal is just too adorable! I feel like this will be a great series for the hectic but beautiful holiday season that is fast approaching. I can’t wait to start on the 22nd, which happens to also be my 30th birthday. 🙂
I love this!!! I am so excited for this. I was just thinking yesterday this would be a great thing to do. I will probably order one of the journals for my 12 year old daughter too.
It’s also perfect for young girls. They’d love it. I think I’m still a young girl at heart. I love doodles. 😀
I love this idea and I’ve just ordered one.
If it’s as wonderful as it sounds, I think you should consider making one for young women preparing for marriage. This sounds like exactly the kind of reflection/prayer that I need right now and it has nothing to do with the holidays!
What an awesome idea. I love it! If the readers like this book, I’ll likely make more like the one you suggested.
Darlene, this series and journal are fabuloso! VERY timely and oh-so-needed and welcomed! Thank you for creating these beautiful resources and may God continue to guide, nurture, calm and bless you mightily!
<3
By any chance is there available as an ebook?
Not this time. Because it’s a journal, I didn’t publish and ebook version. Sorry.
What a lovely book!
Will it be available through Amazon.ca as well or just Amazon.com?
It usually takes a while for the .com to list it at the .ca 🙁 I hope it won’t be too late.
So excited! I ordered mine and it should be here in a couple of days!
Awesome! 😀 Thank you.
So excited! I just ordered one for my sister as well as for myself. This is exactly what I need!
Oh, that’s so sweet!! I hope you both enjoy them!
Sounds like a great “series”. I will participate.
Awesome!
Looks like a wonderful series! I’m looking forward to reading along with you.
Please could you consider an ebook option for this type of series in the future? I’d happily pay you for the pdf file and print it out myself … It’s really lousy being one of your international followers, when Amazon doesn’t ship any of your books here!! 🙁
Belinda, do you have paypal? If so, you can email me at darlene@darleneschacht .net (no space) and let’s see if we can work out a PDF printable for you. Okay?
Thank you for being willing to look at this option!! My husband has a paypal account – going to email you now 🙂
Bless you!
Looking forward to it.
I just ordered a copy, Darlene. It looks beautiful, like everything you do. 🙂 I’m really looking forward to the new series!
I’d really love to order your journal…but it’s not available on Amazon.ca! Bummer! I live in Manitoba as well, it seems silly that we live in the same province but I can’t order your book 🙁 I’ll keep watch on Amazon.ca and see if it pops up there in time to order before December.
Sorry about that, but Amazon.com delivers to Winnipeg. I order from there all the time. And it’s also priced less for Canadians there I noticed today.
I just ordered these! I ordered them for me and my 2 daughters. I love love love that you use the KJV version, it is my favorite and the version my daughters use at school.. I am excited to do this series! Thanks for being such a blessing to me over the years!
I love KJV too. It’s so poetic. I got used to it long ago. Love it.
I’m so glad I reread this post again. I ordered the Prayer Journal and it came yesterday and was really confused. But now I get you’re going to do a study VIA THIS BLOG and the prayer journal will go along with it!!!
Can’t wait!
Yes. The prayer journal is just another way to quiet your heart.
Do you suggest starting the prayer journal when you start the series on the 22nd OR waiting to start the journal 31 days before Christmas and ending on Christmas Eve (except for that final Christmas day snapshot)?
The journal is designed to run from the 25th to the 25th, but since I couldn’t line up my blogging with that (Tues and Fridays) I’d suggest journaling from the 19th to the 22nd. I’ll also have some free resources coming this week to go along with the series. I’m excited about them!
How do I order one of these journals for the holidays. A perfect timely journal.
It’s available on Amazon. here’s a link:

I just ordered one for me and one for a friend at church and I can’t wait to get them!! I hope that I get them in time to start!
Awesome! What a fun thing to do together.
Just ordered mine! I can’t wait, this looks so exciting and fun!
Oh fun! I can’t wait either!
Well, I just ordered my third book. I have already given two away. Can’t wait to get mine and get started next week.
Wow. Thanks so much. This series is going to be fun!
Would have loved to do this series with you but cannot order the journal from South Africa. Any idea how I can get it.
Rowel, could you email me at darlene@darleneschacht .net (no spaces in there) I might have an idea for you.
I am so excited about this, Darlene! I received my book yesterday from Amazon and it’s just amazing! I also printed out the free resource you provided and I wanted to let you know how nice that is of you. I will definitely be joining in on this with you! Thank you, again!
Hey Darlene,
I have been following you for some time and you have inspired me greatly. I am so excited to order this journal and join in the upcoming series.
I have a request for you- if you could consider doing a blog post where you share advices for aspiring women who would like to also set up their own blog and ministries. I am keen in publishing a journal that I have designed but I am not sure how to go about it. Hope to hear from you.
That’s a great idea. I’ll keep that in mind… maybe after our upcoming series!
Hi! Weird question here. I am sending this to a friend who has some strange mail requirements where she lives. It isn’t spiral bound is it?
No. The prayer journal is a paperback binding.
Just clearing up some confusion….we have a group that plans to journal and share this season. I asked above about the timing for journaling and you suggested November 19th to December 22nd. (which was fine) But then I just noticed your calendar at the top has November 22 to December 19th!! Which one do you think is best for us to follow to get the most of what you plan to share through your blog?
Hi, I will be joining you study. I really am looking forward to it. What do I do to join your blog or is this it.
You can follow the study guide I posted to lead you through each day. There’s no sign up required. You can come back every Saturday for new printables. And I’ll also be posting on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Darlene,
I love the front cover! Would you be willing to share the font you used toward the bottom (the one your name is in)? It reminds me of the writing Charles Schulz used in Peanuts. I’m just learning how to letter and getting into journaling, etc, and I would love to see the whole alphabet written out so I can practice it by hand. Thanks! Your journal is a beautiful idea, and definitely needed this time of year!
It’s called Frank the Architect. 🙂 I like it too.
Darlene,
I am loving this series so much!!! I love my journal!! Is there any chance that you will be doing more of these journals for something else??
