Today’s challenge is simple–“kiss him like there’s no tomorrow.”

So what am I saying? How is kissing someone like there’s no tomorrow, different than kissing someone like you do every other day? Or is there a difference?

Kissing like there’s no tomorrow is about being present in the moment. It’s about letting go of distractions and completely giving your heart to him until the moment it passed.

How often do we stop to do that? For newlyweds it’s a way of life. You look forward to the kiss and make them last. But as the years roll by many couples stop kissing passionately and turn to the peck. How romantic is that? Not very.

Pecking is great if you’ve got a beak and live in a hen house, but my guess is that you were born with a pair of lips that were designed to stir up some passion in your marriage.

Here are a 10 interesting facts about kissing: 

  1. The earliest recorded kiss between a man and a woman is found in Genesis 29:11. Jacob kissed Rachel, but I don’t imagine that it was too passionate as they had just met only moments before.
  2. The Romans used to have 3 different words for kissing: baseum (kissing on the hand or the cheek), osculum (the peck between relatives), and saveum (a kiss of passion). a
  3. The study of kissing is called philematology.a
  4. The longest kiss on record was 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds, in a Valentine’s Day kissathon. a
  5. Kissing is good for your health. It lowers stress and burns calories.
  6. In Eureka, Nevada, a man with a moustache may never kiss a woman in public. b
  7. In Logan County, Colorado, it’s illegal for a man to kiss a woman while she is asleep. c
  8. In Hartford, Connecticut it’s illegal for a man to kiss his wife on Sundays. d
  9. In Boston two people may not kiss in front of a church. e
  10. On average a human will spend up to 2 weeks kissing in his/her lifetime. f
