I just wanted to pop in to say that I hope you are enjoying the holidays and pray that you will continue to do so. I’ve been in much prayer for you all this week. I know that some of you have family that you celebrate with while others are facing these weeks alone. In any case we have an incredible God who is always near. He wants to be in fellowship with each and every one of us. My hope is that we sense His presence, not only during the holidays but throughout the years to follow.
I had a wonderful Christmas morning at home with the kids, and through it all I felt like it was more of a thanksgiving than anything else. I truly felt blessed as I soaked in His many blessings.
We normally host two dinners at our place, but since we’re tearing the house apart for renovations this year we were invited to my nephews house on Christmas day. It was a slower pace than usual as normally I’m running around the house getting food ready and sprucing things up.
Brendan slept over on Christmas Eve as he always does. He’s 22-years-old (Christmas Eve birthday) and still jumps on our bed every Christmas morning. He’s seriously a goof that one!
The kids pitched in on Boxing Day to rip carpets apart and move furniture because we’re getting hardwood floors put in. Isnt’ it beautiful? 🙂
Can’t wait for it to be done! We’ve lived here about nine years and have been waiting for the day we could finally get the floors done. Tomorrow it starts.
Michael’s on vacation and so I won’t be able to blog as much during the next week or so, but I will definitely give you a photo of the finished floors when they’re done.
Also, I have a new housekeeping printable that I’ve been working on, but it’s not quite finished. I’ll have that to you soon as well.
You are loved by an almighty God,
Darlene Schacht
Hi Darlene,
I am glad you had a wonderful Christmas with your family. This was the best Christmas ever for us, as it was so peaceful. I didn’t feel anxious about one thing–even the present I hid and trouble remembering where it was–and that’s a miracle! (Both not being anxious and that I actually found it! ha!)
I’m so excited for you to be getting your new floors. We have a 30ish year old house, and we hope to replace the carpet with hardwood some day, so I will experience it vicariously through you, for now! 🙂
Happy New Year!
Blessings,
Selena
Thanks for posting and mostly for praying for all your followers near and far:) We live in Ontario and also have a Brendan who is 20, and the baby of our family; however, jumping on our bed is not a happening thing with our emotionally reserved boy:) his brother, on the other hand, knocks and enters all in the same motion to show us his new remote controlled helicopter and how well he can manoeuvre it up down and around our canopy bed:)) When, he was out in BC schooling, he had no problems calling us at midnight his time (3:00 a.m. our time) because the guys were over and he wanted to make cookies for them, and did I have a good recipe??!!:). May your new year be blessed and your new home renos provide a refreshed house from which many more blessings pour. I have been enjoying your online studies with a group of friends through a fb chat, and we are going to dig into Ruth and Esther in the new year. Blessings to you and your family, Darlene as you continue the ministry that our awesome, and almighty God has laid on your heart.
