Two Awesome Ways to Study The Book of Acts!

August 14, 2015 by Darlene Schacht 2 Comments

Since today is Friday, I thought it would be a great time to get back to some Bible Journaling. If you haven’t read my other posts on Bible Journaling yet, you can find them here: Bible Journaling.

The other day, someone in our Facebook group shared a coloring page from “The Picture Smart Bible.” I had no idea what it was all about, but I was intrigued–the images are really cool, and it looks like a great way to study. I contacted the people over at www.picturesmartbible.com and asked them for a review copy, so I could share it with you.

So far, I printed off the book of Acts. I got myself a three ring binder to keep the pages in. I think I’ll just print each chapter as I go along. They have both K-3 and 4-Adult, Old and New Testaments. I’m using the 4-Adult.

Basically, the pages guide you through each chapter of the Bible. Each section explains a part of that chapter, along with cross references and a drawing prompt like Acts chapter 1 for example. When talking about the upper room. It says:

Draw: a house
Write: 1 Accord
Draw: shaking marks around the house

These visual cues help people like me remember what they’re reading. I can either draw them on a piece of paper or in the margins of my Journaling Bible

There’s also a third option. Each book of the Bible includes an illustration already complete. All you have to do is color it in. I did that as you can see in the image below. As I went through the different areas of study, I colored in the graphic. It was really fun and it’s helping me to remember what I’m reading. Isn’t it cool?

Another Great Way to Study Acts…

If you’re looking to start another Bible study series, Women Living Well is going through the book of Acts (one chapter/day), September 7th to October 14th.

She’ll provide free resources for the week including the weekly Bible reading plan, discussion questions & reflection questions,  meditation verses and more!

On Wednesdays, they’ll be going deeper.  She’ll be providing links to resources that will take you deeper in your walk with God and your study of Acts.

Also available through Amazon is a journal (please note, it’s not a devotional). This journal includes a description of how to use GMG’s signature S.O.A.K. method and Coloring Chart. It also includes the GMG verse of the day, reflection question of the day and a beautiful space to journal all of your SOAKs for each chapter of the book of Acts.

Hi, Darlene! I’ll be reading with Courtney and the Good Morning Girls in the book of Acts and I would love to have the Picture Smart Bible resource to use too. I went on their website and I cannot find an option for 4-Adult. Do you have a link?

    Blessings,
    Laurie

Kind Words

"I'm absolutely in awe of your writing, the way you pulled biblical principles and weaved them into life application. I'm amazed at how you were able to expand upon simple words like action, self discipline, motivation, intention, etc.--and write thought provoking information to actually help one change their mind-set and pursue their goals.

The way you weaved my stories into all these principles leaves me speechless."
