Esther Chapter 4 – For Such a Time as This
Click here to watch this video on Youtube
In our video a couple of weeks ago, Karissa stirred our minds with a deeply meaningful idea: handing over a blank cheque to God. The idea of a cheque symbolizes our readiness to let God, with His steadfast hand, sketch out our life’s story in ways we may not foresee but will always bring beauty and growth. This reflects our unwavering faith and wholehearted surrender to His Divine guidance.
As we embark on Chapter 4, let’s pause to reflect on Esther’s calling. Mordecai presents her with a challenge, urging her to approach the king and plead for her people. Esther faces an internal struggle, torn between fear and faith. But it’s Mordecai’s profound words that awaken her: “Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).
Isn’t this the question we all face in our lives? Are we here for such a time as this? Is this God’s purpose for us? If we have handed God the blank cheque of our lives, we must believe that every circumstance, every challenge, every opportunity is a part of His grand design. We may not always understand the “why,” but we can be confident in the “Who” that guides us.
Esther’s story calls us to bravery and faith. Her decision to say, “I will go to the king, and if I perish, I perish,” (Esther 4:16) reflects the ultimate surrender of control, the very essence of the blank cheque mindset.
As you face decisions that seem uncertain, remember Esther’s courage. Consider the purpose for which God has placed you where you are. Embrace the blank cheque mentality, trusting that His plan is perfect and that He is faithful to guide you every step of the way.
Let’s embark on this week with open hearts, ready to learn, ready to surrender, and ready to be shaped by God’s hand.
This Week’s Challenge
This week, let’s embrace the “blank cheque” mentality. Identify one specific area where you feel called to let go and trust God’s wisdom instead of your own understanding. Write it down and keep it visible as a daily reminder. Share this experience with someone close, if possible, and reflect on how God is guiding you. Like Esther, we may find ourselves in unexpected places, but with a heart of surrender, we can trust that God’s plan is perfect. Let this be a week of growing faith, a week where we lean not on our understanding but on God’s unerring guidance.
