Final THOUGHTS For Week 4
As we approach the end of this week, I’m reminded of how every part of this study has been connected in such a way that 28 separate chapters are unified to form one beautiful picture of God’s gift to mankind. Throughout these four weeks, we’ve discovered that you can’t have peace without first having hope, and you can’t have joy without peace. Finally, as we make our way through the last of the four sections, we see that love is at the very heart of it all—the kind of love that doesn’t wait to be earned, doesn’t keep score, and doesn’t hold back.
We’ve seen how God’s love moved Him to act—sending His Son to be with us, to save us, and to make a way for us to know Him fully. We’ve also been reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 5, calling us to love even those who are hardest to love. That kind of love isn’t easy, but it reflects the heart of Christ in a way nothing else can.
Love, as we’ve seen, isn’t about feelings or convenience—it’s about sacrifice. It’s about choosing to care for someone, even when it’s hard, even when it costs us something. True love reflects the heart of God—unearned, unending, and always ready to give. And it’s through this kind of love that the world sees a glimpse of who Jesus is.
Let’s take a moment this weekend to consider a few things about love:
• Love originates with God: We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). His love is the foundation of our love, and the reason we love.
• Love moves us to action: True love isn’t just words; it’s lived out in the way we serve, forgive, and care for others.
• Love transforms: Whether it’s the love we give or the love we receive, love has the power to soften hearts and mend relationships.
• Love is sacrificial: Just as Jesus gave everything for us, we’re called to love in a way that puts others before ourselves.
As we carry His message of love into the days ahead, let’s ask God to help us reflect His love in big and small ways. Whether it’s showing kindness to a stranger, forgiving a past hurt, or simply being present with someone who needs it, let’s live out the love we’ve so freely received.
That’s the end of our study, ladies! I’ll see you next year, and until then I pray that you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
