A Special Announcement from Time-Warp Wife

MichaelDarlenesm

And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. – Genesis 2:18, 21-23

Over the years, I’ve kept my eyes open, and I’ve tried to be sensitive to the ways that God might use me. Writing this blog was one of them. God has been able to use me to share my testimony and to encourage women in their marriage.

More recently, He’s called me to be Michael’s help meet in a unique way.

Michael and I took over the ownership of a book bindery in 1995. Soon after, Michael shaped it into a self-pubishing company, “Empowering Writers to Self Publish.” Art Bookbindery publishes, children’s books, family history books, novels, poetry, etc.

For the most part, Michael’s been working with the company, while I’ve devoted my time to writing and blogging. That changed a few weeks ago when Michael expressed his need for a social media manager.

Everything about the position had my my name written all over it. He wanted someone who knew the ins and outs of publishing, someone who could keep up a blog, someone who could promote the blog well, and someone who was affordable.

Without a doubt, I knew that someone was me. Affordable? How about free?! *smile*

The question remained, where does this leave Time-Warp Wife? And what about daily marriage prayers? How can I possibly do it all, and do it all well?

And so I prayed. If anyone knows how to figure all of this out, it’s God. (Please pray for me too, as I step into  this new world of blogging).

What I’ve decided in the end is that I’ll publish once a week here at Time-Warp Wife and once a week at PublishingInfo.net. I’ll also keep up the daily prayers (every day) at MarriagePrayers.Today.

It might sound like my plate is overflowing, but my children are all in their teen years (oops – one is 23!) which makes things much easier for us. Because blogging is flexible, I’m able to put it aside to spend time with them when I want, which is pretty cool.

I’d like to invite you to visit my new website PublishingInfo.net, where I share the latest book promotion, writing, publishing, and social media tips. I’ll also be holding some contests for fun. Woohoo!!

If you know of anyone looking to publish a book or is putting together a family history, send them our way, and if you’re a writer/blogger, you’ll definitely want to subscribe so you don’t miss out on the secrets I share.

What an exciting new assignment God is giving you! I’m glad He is leading you to keep this website and blog going because He uses your words and insights in so many of our lives. He is bringing changes to my life as well as I have been laid off from corporate communications job after 23 years with the company. I sense God leading me to do something new and for His glory with these writing/editing skills He has given me, so if you need any assistance on any of your ventures, please let me know!

    Darlene! How wonderful!
I’ve been wanting to publish a children’s book for years, but I have no one to illustrate it. The text is written with a story that can be continued into a series. Any tips on getting illustrated? Now I know where to go to to get publishing info!! Thanks for sharing Darlene!

That is so wonderful! God has called us first to be our husbands helpmates. This has been a struggle, and still is for me, over my 35 married years. My heart cries out wanting to help God and as I write this I am reminded that God does not need my help. What he wants is my will to serve Him. You see my husband and I do not share the same commitment to serving God. I always find myself diving in full speed ahead coming out in the end exhausted and having my husband feeling left as last. God has showed me over the past few years that my husband IS my mission and should always be first after God. To devote my time serving God while serving my husband. I believe there will come a time when we share the same desire to serve God in a mighty way but I need to remember it is in God’s timing not mine. I am so happy for you to be joining your husband in such a wonderful endeavor. I pray God will open many more doors and opportunities for you to glorify God. Thank you for your continued prayers and post that encourage so many.
