Because YOU are {HIS}!!

Your Father and King delight greatly in you.

We’re continuing our Women Living Well series this week on the topic of your walk with the King.

“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT)

I sat up in bed so I could see the neon red lights that told me it was three in the morning, time to feed the baby. But Andrew hadn’t made a sound.

Wavering between panic and joy, I felt my way down the hall to his room and leaned over Andrew’s crib. I listened for the sound of his breathing and carefully rested my hand on his tiny chest to feel the gentle rhythm of its rising and falling.

Moonlight slipped through the blinds helping me see he was perfectly fine. Most sane moms would have gone back to bed, but not me. I stood there for a while just delighting in my child.

The love and joy I felt at that moment was almost overwhelming. How could I love someone so much? My heart longed just to be with this little guy who set my days in motion with his cries and smiles.

Even after Andrew developed a routine of sleeping through the night, I’d still tip toe into his room just to watch him sleep.

Both my boys are teenagers now, but sometimes I still sneak into their rooms to pray over them and watch them. They aren’t doing anything to make me feel proud or happy. In fact, they may have even driven me to my wit’s end that day, but I delight in them because they are mine.

God feels the exact same way about you. He loves to be with you and watch over you! Not because you are doing anything for Him, but simply {because you are His}. As Courtney shares all throughout section one of “Women Living Well,” God created us to walk with Him, know Him and be loved by Him.”

Your Father and King delights greatly in you!!! And with His love, He is there to sing over you and to quiet your heart – to calm your fears and replace your insecurities with His assurance.

The  joy-filled songs God sings over you are written just for you, describing the beautiful woman He created you to be while gently leading your heart to know and rely on His love more and more each day.

What a great reminder for days when nothing’s going right; when you feel like the whole world is against you and nobody understands what you’re going through.

The next time you’re feeling alone or discouraged, remember your Heavenly Father and King loves and delights in you, not because of all that you do, but all because you are His!

Lord thank You for inviting me to walk with You, my Father and King. Help me carve out time to pull away from all that pulls on me – and just be with You. Give me a hunger for  Your word and a thirst for Your presence that not only quenches but drenches my spirit with Your love! Im so grateful that You are always with me and that You love to watch over me, even while I’m sleeping! Help me believe the truth about Your love towards me as I walk with You, my King. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Sometimes it is hard for me to believe God loves me so much. My childhood was rough and I always questioned God. I have since learned the reasons I went through what I did but I still struggle with understanding and knowing that God loves me so much. I spend time with everyday seeking wisdom and understanding. But at this present time I am asking him to renew my strength so that I may run and not grow weary.

Beautiful prayer, Renee : ) There is so much that pulls at our day, but it is only God who satisfies our soul.

Dawn, Im praying for you this morning. For so many years the pain of my past kept me from believing God’s promises for my present and future. I talk about my struggle and how God’s led my heart into a place of hope in a video message on this topic. Would love to share it with you in hopes that it might encourage your heart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0yVAqxsGdw
