Where God is I will be basking in the light of God's Word

Daily Devotion – Basking in the Light of God’s Word – We bought a new house today, and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. Trying to find a house at Christmas time is like searching for a black jujube after everyone else has picked through the bowl. Every time we found one that we liked, we discovered that it was already sold. Thus this past week has been a constant roller coast of ups and downs.

Did I mention that we have to be out of here in three weeks? We have less than three weeks to pack up and finalize everything.

About that roller coaster… It’s definitely up right now. We found a little house that is oh-so-adorable. And, do you know what I like most about it? The windows. I swear, it’s the brightest little house I’ve ever seen with a South-facing living room. And, I’ve already marked out a spot for my Bible and I.

I can’t tell you how much I love sunlight. The warmth of its rays are a cozy blanket on a cold winter day. Should the world fall apart around me, I would still have a great day because of its light.

As I got to thinking about that today I was reminded how strong that parallel really is in my life. Take all that I have, but just leave me the light. There’s hope in the light of God’s Word. Light that shines in the darkness, hope that transcends even the darkest of days. For where He is, there I will be basking in the light of God’s Word.
