Daily Devotion - Building Your House on a Rock

Building Your House on a Rock – I wonder, how do people get past their pain when they don’t have the hope of salvation? How do they face hardship, when they can’t see there’s more to this life than this world? Where is their strength in the storm?

The beautiful thing about faith is having Someone to lean on. Knowing that God is our strength when we’re weak. Knowing that He provides. Knowing we’re safe in His arms through each storm.

And there will be storms. The rain will fall, the floods will rise, and the wind will blow, as trials threaten to tear down our hope. When those days come, will you be standing, or will you fall down? Will you lose hope when you need it the most, or are you building wisely today?

The ones building wisely are those who are both hearing God’s Word and obeying His Word. They’re the ones building their house on a rock. They’re the ones we see standing firm in a storm.

Tilling the Soil

Read Matthew 7:16-27.

Planting Hope

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

(Matthew 7:24-27, KJV)
