Daily Devotion – Faithful One, So Unchanging

Today’s Scattered Seeds
So much has changed this year. Month by month things are changing and I expect things will shift even more. I’m sitting across the desk from my husband who is working on his laptop. Two months ago I wouldn’t have dreamed that we’d be working together in ministry, but that all changed when his company closed. My son (who has been living on his own for 10 years) is moving back in, and the changes go on…
With that said, one thing remains the same without fail: Jesus. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. He always was, and always will be.
You can’t say that about anyone or anything else really. Think back to when you were a child. How many of the people that you knew then do you still know now? As for me, the people have changed, the neighborhood changed, and of course, I have changed–yet my Savior has not.
The beauty in all of this is that we’re standing on a firm foundation–an unfailing source of strength, an unchanging spring of hope, a constant friend and companion.
Faithful one, so unchanging
Ageless one, you’re my rock of peace
Lord of all I depend on you
I call out to you, again and again

Tilling the Soil
If or when you’re overwhelmed by this ever-changing world, remind yourself that the same God who parted the sea and hung the stars in the sky is the same God we serve today. He is more than able to keep you safe and carry you through.
Planting Hope
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (Hebrews 13:8, KJV)

Darlene Schacht and her husband Michael live in Manitoba Canada where the summers are beautiful and the winters are cold. Together they’ve come to learn that relationships aren’t always easy, but that marriage, the way God intended it to be, is a treasure worth fighting for.
She began her publishing journey about twelve years ago when she pioneered one of the first online magazines for Christian women, known at the time as “Christian Women Online Magazine.” After three years, Darlene left CWO to blog as a solo author at Time-Warp Wife Ministries.
It was also during this transition that she worked alongside actress Candace Cameron Bure to write the NYT Best-Selling book, Reshaping it All: Motivation for Spiritual and Physical Fitness. Reshaping it All was the winner of both the 2011 USA Best Book Awards and the 2012 Christian Reading Retailers Choice Awards.
Author of more than 15 books, Darlene continues to write and to minister to her readers through her blog at TimeWarpWife.com.
