It seems that everywhere I turn lately I see a verse with a similar message telling me, “the Lord goes before you,” and “He will make a way.”
With that I’m reminded of the many times that things have worked in my favor. The days when things just fell into place. Those things that I feared, which turned out to be nothing. Opportunities that knocked on my door, and other doors that were opened…
How many of those have I chalked up to good fortune, to luck, or to chance? Perhaps I didn’t use those words exactly, but if we aren’t thanking God, who are we thanking, really?
We all know, things don’t just fall into place. If they did, I wouldn’t have to clean my kitchen every day or make my bed. It would fall into place, wouldn’t it?
When my boys walk into a clean kitchen, it’s because I went before them and cleaned up the mess. When my kids were young and we’d all sit down for dinner, it was because I went before them to prepare a meal.
If we can understand that, maybe we can start to see God’s work behind the scenes. Maybe we can start to give Him thanks where thanks is due.
And, maybe we’ll be all the more courageous when we know we’re in His care.

Take time to notice the things that God has prepared for you ahead of time. Don’t chalk anything up to chance or good fortune, when you have the opportunity to praise God.
And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8, KJV)

Darlene Schacht and her husband Michael live in Manitoba Canada where the summers are beautiful and the winters are cold. Together they’ve come to learn that relationships aren’t always easy, but that marriage, the way God intended it to be, is a treasure worth fighting for.
She began her publishing journey about twelve years ago when she pioneered one of the first online magazines for Christian women, known at the time as “Christian Women Online Magazine.” After three years, Darlene left CWO to blog as a solo author at Time-Warp Wife Ministries.
It was also during this transition that she worked alongside actress Candace Cameron Bure to write the NYT Best-Selling book, Reshaping it All: Motivation for Spiritual and Physical Fitness.
