We invite you to the kitchen table this week as we’re chatting about Bibles, books, Barbies, and more!

Looking at the armor of God found in Ephesians Chapter Six, we talk about the shield of faith and the fiery arrows of the devil. We discuss the reason Paul says, “Above all this, take up your shield of faith.” And, we take a closer look at the word “shield” in that context to see how it’s slightly different from your average piece of armor.

Today’s Scattered Seeds

The other night I was trying to sleep. It was 2:30 am and my goofy husband decided to put “Newborn Baby Crying,” on his phone app for my listening pleasure. It reminded me of days gone by, and the many sleepless nights we had been through.

Those days were some of the hardest, and yet it seems that’s when the babies were sweetest. One little smile could make me forget just how tired and exhausted I was.

That’s how life is some days. The stress of everyday life can be taxing, exhausting, and tough. Sometimes we go down difficult paths, but then there are days that outshine them all. The days that remind us it was worth the hard work. The moments that tell us hard work pays off.

Let’s not trade one day for another, rather let us value them both. May we cherish the days that lead us to grow, that teach us to trust, and remind us of the working power of God.
