Here’s a 5-Minute Marriage podcast from a few weeks ago. Since it’s a great fit for today’s post, I wanted to share it. Whether you’re married or not, I think you’ll enjoy it. If you have trouble with the player below, “Click Here” to listen.

Today’s Scattered Seeds

When I was a teenager, my parents had a sign hanging in our home that read, “Please be patient, God isn’t finished with me yet.” It served to remind us of two things: give grace to the ones who are growing, and keep on growing yourself.

We’re all a work in progress aren’t we? At least we should be. The word progress goes hand in hand with growth not perfection. It’s an onward motion to the goal ahead.

And, do you know what? You need grace every bit as much as the next person. Maybe you failed, maybe you fell, maybe you stumbled, maybe you chose to sin when you knew it was wrong…

And Jesus said unto her, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11, KJV)

Do you see the two-fold message in that verse? While Jesus offered her grace, He didn’t condone her sin. He encouraged her to grow by turning away from a life of sin.

Don’t minimize the grace you’ve been given. Don’t think for a minute that your sin is too big for God, because it’s not.

Corrie Ten Boom once said, “There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still.

And, she was right. It doesn’t matter what you did yesterday, God wants to know what you’ll do today. It doesn’t matter where you have been or what you have done. His grace is sufficient for you.

Tilling the Soil

If you haven’t repented yet, get into prayer and do that today. Ask God to cleanse you from sin and accept Him as your Savior and Lord. Invite Him to come into your life and transform you. And, if you have time, take a minute to watch this short video by Bill Graham. It’s not long, and it’s one of my absolute favorites! Click here to watch it.

P.S. Do you have a friend who needs this post? If you do, please share the link.

Do you want more homework? (wink) Read the story of the woman caught in adultery, John 8:1-11.
