Image created using acrylic paint and water color pencils. For the black lines and lettering, I used a Micron 01 and 05 pen. For a complete list of my supplies and to view a video on my painting technique, visit this post: Bible Journaling 101

You know what’s really cool? When God uses your weakness to illustrate His strength. It seems like He’s always using me in ways that I never imagined He would.
I wish you could have seen me drawing this image. There were a few moments there when I had to stop, breathe deep, and wait for my hands to stop shaking. They never really stop shaking, but somehow I know when to put pen to paper.
It took me a few days to make because I kept thinking to myself, “I can’t do this. My hand-lettering days are over before they even begin. This chapter of my life is closed. Finished.”
I put it off again and again thinking it would only be a mess in the end. My essential tremor was bad this week, but He took my worship and made beauty from ashes. He anoints my head with oil. He sets my feet on paths I’d never venture to take on my own. He is good.
Bible journaling is a new form of worship to me. It allows me to praise God through the work of my hands. It reminds me to dig into my Bible daily. It reminds me that He is bigger than any problem I have.
With a particular interest in hand-lettering, I’ve been checking out books–a whole bunch of them. For some reason I couldn’t find any that I really loved until this week when I found two of them!
These books are full of font ideas. You can find beautiful lettering as well as chunky, funky fonts. Of course there are a many more pages and ideas, but in respect to the authors, I’ll only show you a few.
Aren’t these pages absolutely stunning?!
This page below is from artist Lori Vliegen.
She’s one of my favorite lettering artists, so I was excited
to find her work in this book!
These books are available at Amazon. And who knows–you might also find them in your local book store!
P.S. I’m using my affiliate links in this post. But please note that I only share links to stuff that I love and that I think you’ll love too!
Let God use your weakness for His glory!!
You are loved by an almighty God,
