My daughter Madison Turner and I just wrote our first children’s story book! I’m so blessed to have worked on this project with her. It’s called, Celebrate Christmas by Living God’s Way.

I know it’s a bit early, but if you’re looking for the perfect Christmas gift for your child, your grandchild, or little special someone in your life, this book is both adorable and inspiring.

The book teaches children to love and to give to others. It points out that the best gifts are the ones that come from the heart. When we care and share with those in need we celebrate Christmas by living God’s way.

The story goes like this… (also see sample images below)

‘Twas the night before Christmas, in a wee little house,
Lived a jolly old couple, named Ma and Pa Mouse.

Their wallets were empty, Christmas was nigh,
But they had something that money can’t buy.

They opened their doors to the poor and the frail,
A homeless old squirrel with a bushy red tail.

They lived by God’s word and what Jesus had said,
“Don’t keep all you have, give to others instead.”

They didn’t have much, but they shared what they had,
While Grandma knit socks for two boys, Ben, and Brad.

They called Bart the Beaver who lived all alone,
His heart skipped a beat when he answered the phone.

A lonely old bear who lived down by the sea,
Was invited to come, he brought them a tree.

They welcomed a hedgehog, they welcomed a goose,
A poor orphaned fox and a family of Moose.

They whipped up hot chocolate and started to bake,
Said, “Bunnies are coming, we’ll need carrot cake!”

They read from God’s Word, and they danced through the night,
The joy that they shared was a beautiful sight.

Three carollers sang on the street down below,
“Christ Jesus is born,” then it started to snow.

At the end of the day, they all fell asleep,
Reminded that love isn’t something you keep.

No longer alone, they met people who care,
And everyone knew that Jesus was there.

The best gifts are the ones inside of your heart,
When we share with others, we’re doing our part.

But love isn’t love ’til you give it away.
So, celebrate Christmas by living God’s way.
