Hey besties, I just wanted to pop in and say hello because, well, first of all, I’m missing you all, and secondly, I wanted to update you on the status of our next study.

The one I was originally working on was so boring, I think God almost fell asleep watching me type. Haha. With that said, I have no doubt that He redirected my steps. In hindsight, I guess there was something He wanted me to study before embarking on this new one.

The new one is exciting, and I’m loving every page of it. I won’t be telling you what it is yet because I want it to be a surprise, but it’s a really great topic that I know we’ll all enjoy.

I’m almost finished with the 4th chapter of 7, and then I’ll add some images and have it edited. It’s truly a blessing to be able to write these. I spend hours upon hours immersed in the Bible, checking out cross-references, and praying over each page. There’s a lot of scripture in this one, so get some highlighters ready to go!

I also took about a week off, which helped my eyesight immensely. I pulled out my sewing machine for the first time in decades. Walking into a sewing store was all new to me; I seriously haven’t been sewing (other than hemming pants) since the ’90s. How old am I?!!

And what did I make? It’s been a life-long dream of mine to make a cloth doll. When I was a little girl, I took the same book out of the library almost every week; it was called “Making Soft Toys.” I tried and I tried and I tried, but every time I got to the hair, I gave up.

This time I was determined to finish. I almost gave up a few times, but I decided to press through, learn new things, and exercise patience. Everything on the doll, including her hair that I crocheted into a wig, is handmade, with the exception of the shoes and the little teddy. I did try to make shoes twice, but they were taking almost as long as the doll. Maybe one day I’ll make those.

With that said, meet Charlotte. She’s the new “baby” in our home, and like a proud grandma I’m pulling out photos of her all the time. This is what we do when the kids move out… we either dress up little dogs, or set up a sewing room and make more kids.

See you soon, besties! I’m typing as fast as the Lord will let me.

Don’t forget, I redid one of our older studies. I added more content, better graphics, and thought provoking questions. I won’t be going through this one with you as I want to focus on the new study, but if you are looking for a study to work on during my break, it will keep you busy.

It’s available for free in the members only section. If you are a subscriber, you can find the link to it at the bottom of the emails you have received.

It’s also available at Amazon. Click here if you would prefer to pick up a copy.

  1. Ahh, Charlotte is so beautiful! Sewing can definitely be balm for our soul. What pattern did you use to make her? I have always thought making a doll would be fun, maybe I’ll try it soon. Looking forward to hearing more about the study you are creating!
