The Unshakable Power Of Peace

This week, we’re diving into the theme of peace—a gift we often long for during the busyness of the Christmas season. But peace isn’t just about quiet moments or a break from the chaos; it’s something far deeper. Isaiah 26:3 reminds us, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

I started thinking about the ways we try to create peace on our own—whether it’s by finding a cozy corner to relax, checking things off our to-do lists, or squeezing in a moment of calm before the next task. While those moments can help, true peace—the kind that steadies us through life’s storms—only comes from God. It’s the deep, unshakable calm we find when we anchor our hearts in Him, no matter what’s going on around us.

If you’re like me, sometimes it’s hard to know where to start when life feels anything but peaceful.

Here are a few, practical ways to focus on God’s peace this week:

    1. Start your day with prayer: Offer your fears and worries to God before the day gets hectic.
    2. Keep a “peace journal”: Write down three things each day that remind you of God’s faithfulness.
    3. Memorize Isaiah 26:3: Let this verse remind you to trust in God when anxiety creeps in. (See printable below).
    4. Pause and breathe: When things feel overwhelming, take a moment to step away, breathe deeply, and focus on Philippians 4:8—think about whatever is true, noble, and praiseworthy. (See printable worksheet below).
    5. Be a peacemaker: Look for small opportunities to bring calm to a situation—whether it’s apologizing, encouraging someone, or helping to resolve a conflict.

This week, we’ll see what peace looks like through Scripture. We’ll look at Mary and Joseph’s faithfulness in the face of life’s uncertainties, explore the call to be peacemakers in our relationships, discover how to fix our thoughts on what is true and admirable, and reflect Christ’s character by responding to challenges with humility and grace.

Before we begin, take a moment for a little soul reflection: What’s weighing on your heart? What’s robbing you of the peace God wants to give you? Write those things down, and let’s offer them to the Lord in prayer.

Remember, peace isn’t found in perfect circumstances—it’s found in God’s presence. I can’t wait to walk through this week with you and hear how His peace is at work in your life!

    This Week’s Challenge

Take a moment for a little soul reflection this week: Ask yourself, What’s weighing on my heart? What’s robbing me of the peace God wants to give me? Write those things down, and offer them to the Lord in prayer.
