Daily Devotion – Go Home and Love Your Family

Mother Teresa once said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”

Likewise, I’ve found that most of the positive, effective, and influential people I’ve met over the years came from a solid home with parents that nurtured and believed in them. Of course, there will always be exceptions to this, but the fact remains that parents have an opportunity to greatly influence the lives of growing children.

Here’s the interesting part in all of this: it’s not just the kids that we’re impacting. 1 Peter 3:1 tells us that a husband can be won over by the behavior of his wife. In other words, family life has a big effect on the people we live with. Even now, lives are being shaped within the four walls of your home.

Don’t waste the opportunity to impact lives in a positive way.

Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives. 1 Peter 3:1, NIV
