JOIN OUR FELLOWSHIP ON FACEBOOK
Hi ladies! I’m so glad you’re joining me for this 4-week journey through Advent.
Each week, we’ll walk through one of the four gifts God extends to us at Christmas—His faithful love, His sacrificial love, His transforming love, and His eternal love. These gifts shape the way we live, the way we trust, and the way we draw near to Jesus.
It’s about slowing down long enough to see how God steps into ordinary moments with extraordinary grace.
If you haven’t already, I’d love to invite you to join our Facebook group, Bible Studies by Time-Warp Wife. It’s a place to connect, encourage each other, and grow in faith together. I can’t wait to get started with you! ❤️

When the Waiting Feels Heavy
If you’ve ever stood in a season where the clock keeps moving but God seems quiet, you’re not alone. Waiting has a way of stirring up questions we didn’t expect—questions about timing, about purpose, and sometimes even about God’s care for us.
This week, we’re turning our eyes to a couple who knew that feeling well: Zechariah and Elizabeth. Luke tells us they were faithful, devoted, and upright before God (Luke 1:6). They weren’t half-hearted followers. They weren’t living in rebellion. They were steady. And yet—they waited. For years. Longer than they ever imagined.
Their story reminds us that even when we can’t see what God is doing, He is still at work.
I think many of us have stood in that place. We’ve prayed for healing that hasn’t come yet. We’ve hoped for restoration that feels impossible. We’ve carried longings that seem unanswered. And in the quiet, we wonder if maybe we misheard God… or worse, if He’s forgotten us.
But Scripture shows us something different.
God never forgot Zechariah and Elizabeth.
And He hasn’t forgotten you.
Luke 1:13 tells us the angel’s first words to Zechariah were, “Do not be afraid… your prayer has been heard.” Think about that. Long after Zechariah had likely stopped praying that prayer, God still remembered it. His timing was different, but His heart toward them had never changed.
Paul echoes this same truth in Galatians 4:4 when he writes, “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son…” God didn’t move early. He didn’t move late. He moved right on time, according to His wisdom, His plan, and His love.
That’s what Advent calls us to remember—not just the waiting of God’s people long ago, but the faithfulness of God in the waiting.
Waiting is not wasted.
Silence is not abandonment.
And delays are not denials.
The God who holds time in His hands knows exactly what He’s doing in yours.
This week, as we walk through the stories of Zechariah, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Peter, the shepherds, and Mary, we’ll see a pattern woven through every moment: God’s love was faithful then. And it’s faithful now. He meets us in our weakness. He restores what shame tries to bury. He carries us when the next step feels impossible. And He finishes what He starts.
Advent is a season of remembering that God always keeps His word—whether we feel it or not.
So if you’re carrying an unanswered prayer this morning, take heart. God is not slow in keeping His promises. He’s preparing something good, something purposeful, something rooted in His perfect love for you.
Lean into Him today.
Open your heart to His presence.
Let hope rise again—not because you see the whole picture, but because the One who does is faithful.
This is the beauty of Christmas.
This is the gift.
Before you go, I want to invite you to come back on Friday.
I’ll be continuing these thoughts on God’s faithful love—how He meets us in the waiting, carries us through the hard places, and keeps His promises in ways we don’t always expect. I’d love for you to join me as we keep walking through this season together.
And if you’d like to connect with other women who are walking through this study, Join the discussion in our Facebook group. It’s a warm, encouraging space to share what God is teaching you and to grow together.
