Last weekend we went out of town for the day, and by the time we drove back, it was dark out. Since the front seat was a little bit chilly, I traded spots with Brendan who was more than happy to sit in the front, recline his seat and look up at the stars through the top of the Jeep.

My kids have always enjoyed that. Since the day they were born through to young adulthood they can’t get enough of the sky. Some days we’d drive out of town, and park on an old country road just so we could stop for a few minutes and stare.

David once wrote, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” (Psalm 19:1, KJV)

From the brilliant color of a clear blue sky to the magnificent sight on a dark stormy night, it’s truly amazing to witness the glory of God.

And I wonder, do I declare the glory of God?

I’m reminded of the scriptures that urge me to be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. He doesn’t want to return to a lukewarm church. He wants us to be light in the darkness. He wants us to draw others to Him. He wants His people to be a reflection of His splendor and beauty by the way that we live and the way that we love.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:. (2 Peter 1:3, KJV)
