Quieting Your Heart: An Invitation to Dwell in His Presence This Christmas

Ladies, if you’re looking for an Advent Devotional that will point you in the direction of Christ, I encourage you to keep reading. More than a book, this devotional is an invitation. An invitation for tired moms to slow down, for busy wives to pause and refocus, and for women to gather in stillness, seeking the wisdom found in the Bible. It’s a journey to rediscover the joy and peace that comes from walking with Christ, especially in the hustle of the holiday season. As Christian women, we need to embrace this sacred time by diving into Scripture and finding solace in His presence. Let’s quiet our hearts this holiday season as we prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth.

What is it about Christmas that sweeps us up in its beauty and charm? Is it the inviting scents of nutmeg and cinnamon? Is it the warmth of flickering candles and a cup of steaming hot chocolate? Or, maybe it’s the sound of bells in the distance that has us decking the halls, dragging out boxes, and dusting off our Bing Crosby records.

There’s a comforting embrace to the season that reaches deep into our souls—a patchwork of traditions, lovingly stitched together by generations gone by. The smell of gingerbread cookies fresh from the oven, the sound of laughter by a crackling fire, and the simple joy of togetherness mark the memories we’ve shared. These moments resonate within us, reminding us of grandma’s recipes, grandpa’s stories by the fireside, and mom’s homemade stuffing.

Yes, there’s a beauty and charm to the holiday season, but amid the gifts and the glitter, the goose and the garland, this world has lost sight of God’s only son.

That’s why I’ve written this book: “Quieting Your Heart: An Invitation to Dwell in His Presence This Christmas.” So that we prepare room for Him in our hearts and our homes. This advent-devotional Bible study is an invitation to rediscover the profound love of God, revealed in the humble birth of our Savior.

What sets this study apart? Rather than focusing on our fleeting emotions, we immerse ourselves in the eternal truths of God’s Word. Over the course of four weeks, leading up to Christmas, we’ll journey together through the rich biblical themes of Love, Joy, Hope, and Peace. Each day is a refreshing look at scripture, shedding light on timeless stories ranging from Jacob and Rachel’s enduring love to the inspiring resilience of Paul and Silas.

Starting Tuesday November 28th, I’ll be hosting this transformative 4-week, 28-day devotional Bible study right here on the blog. My hope is that we can find moments of peace amidst the holiday hustle, to dwell in His presence, and rediscover the essence of Christmas.
