  • 6 Ways to Lift Up Your Husband When He’s Down

    April 30, 2014 /

I couldn’t say when I first noticed. We were in the midst of so many trials at the time that it’s hard to tell when it really began. Troubles in the church. Hardships at home. Challenges at work. So much was swirling about us that I didn’t notice how heavy it was on his soul. But then one day I watched as he walked by with his shoulders slumped over and his stride too slow. As if burdened by some great weight and it was all he could do to carry it across the floor. My heart went out to him. I was rather worried. and a little afraid. I mean,…

  • 6 Ways to Build Up Our Husbands

    March 28, 2014 /

Today we’re onto chapter six in our book club for The Virtuous Life of a Christ-Centered Wife: 18 Powerful Lessons for Personal Growth. Today’s chapter is on the virtue of encouragement. More information on the book club is found underneath the post. (View table of contents here.) _________________________________ Our first house was definitely considered a starter home. It was a humble abode with two little bedrooms, a tiny kitchen, a small yard, and a teensy-weensy back porch. It wasn’t grand, but there was no place like home. With a few dollars behind us we put up a wooden fence in the yard.  The leftover pickets were used to cover the floor in…

  • 3 Ways to Speak Life to Our Husbands

    February 27, 2014 /

image source: lightstock.com “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Ladies, we like to talk, right? I mean, it’s said that women speak 3 times more than men. This has turned out to be a myth, but the point is it appears that women talk all the time, whereas men tend to be more reserved. Or so the myth says. I had a great grandfather who barely spoke. He would sit at the dinner table and simply stare at the thing he wanted until someone noticed and gave it to him. My great grandmother was so intune to…

About Darlene Schacht

Darlene Schacht and her husband Michael live in Manitoba Canada where the summers are beautiful and the winters are cold. Together they’ve come to learn that relationships aren’t always easy, but that marriage, the way God intended it to be, is a treasure worth fighting for.

She began her publishing journey about twelve years ago when she pioneered one of the first online magazines for Christian women, known at the time as “Christian Women Online Magazine.” After three years, Darlene left CWO to blog as a solo author at Time-Warp Wife Ministries.

It was also during this transition that she worked alongside actress Candace Cameron Bure to write the NYT Best-Selling book, Reshaping it All: Motivation for Spiritual and Physical Fitness. Reshaping it All was the winner of both the 2011 USA Best Book Awards and the 2012 Christian Reading Retailers Choice Awards.

Author of more than 15 books, Darlene continues to write and to minister to her readers through her blog at TimeWarpWife.com.

Kinds Words

“I’m absolutely in awe of your writing, the way you pulled biblical principles and weaved them into life application. I’m amazed at how you were able to expand upon simple words like action, self discipline, motivation, intention, etc.–and write thought provoking information to actually help one change their mind-set and pursue their goals.

The way you weaved my stories into all these principles leaves me speechless.”

– Candace Cameron Bure, Actress, speaker, and NYT Best-Selling Author
