  • But Did I Share the Gospel?

    July 1, 2014 /

We’re continuing our Women Living Well series this week on the topic of your walk with the King.  “Your influence as a mother is powerful, don’t waste it. Little eyes are watching you.” ~ Courtney Joseph, Women Living Well Ohhhh, Friends. Isn’t it in the smallest things that we find the greatest “ah haa moments” ? Just yesterday, I asked my son to clean his room. As most ten year olds do, he bantered back and forth with me, “Maaaaaa, it’s summmmmer”, and “Maaaa, I cleaned my room yesterday!” Finally, when I mentioned the upcoming consequence, he begrudgingly ran upstairs, shut the door, and from my knowledge did what he was supposed…

  • Words of Assurance

    September 8, 2011 /

Dear Darlene, I am about to turn 33 weeks pregnant and I know I will have to have a c-section. I have had two before plus one myomectomy. I am getting very nervous as I dislike the surgery (every aspect: spinal block, risk of infection, unable to move legs, pain afterwards, feeling helpless and vulnerable, fear). I put my trust in God when deciding to try once more but I am not biblically well educated enough to have scripture to mediate on for this journey. I hope you can help me as I would like to face this with God’s word in my mind. Sincerely, Mommy in Waiting Dear Mommy…

    August 23, 2011 /

In celebration of my first birthday at Time-Warp Wife, I’d like to take a minute to thank each and every one of you for your participation. Thank you for popping in here to read the blog, and for those who have–thank you also for sharing these posts with your friends. I’m grateful for the many notes of prayer and encouragement that I have received from so many of you. Your faith is uplifting and refreshing to me. This started out as a blog just any other, but soon it became a passion to me, and a position of ministry that I don’t take lightly. What I’ve began to notice is…

  • God’s Wisdom is Greater Than Ours

    October 19, 2010 /

(Letter from a reader. I appreciate your thoughts) Dear Darlene, I was randomly directed to your site today and read your post on the gender gap. While I appreciate the different mind set that you represent, from my own, I couldn’t leave for class today without sending you an email. I was a psychology major in my undergraduate studies and have continued on that path in graduate school. The John/Joan case was something I studied in personality psychology. It is truly devastating. However, I don’t think that anyone in modern medicine or psychology views this as a medical “triumph.” Children altered at birth are much different than adolescents and young…

  • My Story of Love, Infidelity, and God’s Incomparable Grace

    September 14, 2010 /

I’m Darlene Schacht, and this is our story of God’s incomparable grace… Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. ~ Genesis 2:24, KJV It was my husband’s birthday I still had some wrapping to do when I heard the hum of the garage door open and close. I glanced at the clock. It was only three thirty; the kids weren’t even home from school yet. Michael wasn’t due home for at least another hour, and if you know my husband at all, you’ll understand why this took me by surprise. Michael’s never been late for work, he doesn’t…
